An end-of-year trip, new basketball hoops, materials for the infant classroom. There is nearly always a project that will not fit the ordinary budget and ends up funded by a raffle, a stall or a voluntary contribution from whoever can afford it.

The problem is rarely the idea, it is the logistics: paper ticket books, cash going round and a list of who has given that nobody knows where it ends up.
